Vivian - Week 28: Little drummer girl

One fun thing about Vivian that is new to me is that she just loves playing with toys. Adrian has had this drum for 2 years and never touched it but she just loves it. She is constantly playing with toys. It is really fun to watch.

She has started in her Jolly Jumper and that is really fun to watch. She is very proud when she gets bouncing. Adrian will sit beside her and play music on his drum or piano for her to jump to. That just gets her going more as she loves any interaction with her brother. Vivian is itching to crawl and can get up on her hands and knees and rock back and forth. Although I can't wait to see her crawl it will just make my day all that more busy once she is mobile. It won't be long!

I'm a "beater"

Adrian disappeared for a few minutes and came back with just these shorts on pulled up over his belly button. I asked him what on earth he was doing and he said "I'm a beater Mommy". I had no idea what he was talking about and then I thought to myself he sort of looks like a boxer and that was indeed what he meant. No more watching TSN with Daddy!

No peas please.

"What is this you are putting in my mouth Mom?"

"Eww.... this isn't pears or bananas!"

"I can't stay mad at you Mom."

Vivian - Week 27: Chompers

Vivian got both of her bottom teeth this week. I suspect it will be a few weeks before I get pictures of them if she is anything like her brother was. She seems much more content now that they have broken through.

She is no longer content staying still and is trying to figure out how to crawl. She can get up on her tippy toes and arms in a plank position. I leave her on her mat and look away for a second and she is in a totally different spot than I had left her when I return. The other day I left Vivian in the living room on her mat and was in the kitchen (I can see the living room from there) when Jamie came in and asked where she was. I was a little taken aback and looked in the living room and she was nowhere to be seen. She had back herself into Adrian's toy corner and when I came around the corner I saw her little smiling face sticking out from a pile of construction vehicles. It was hilarious but scary at the same time.

Vivan - Week 26 - Happy 1/2 Birthday Vivian!

My baby turned 6 months old this past week and it just occurred to me that it was on Jamie's birthday. She didn't get any cake but she did get some avocado and boy did she love it. She must get that from me. I am going to take her to Mexico for guacamole some day.

I am taking advantage of my summer off and doing lots of traveling. We just spent a few days in Stickney where we took in Stickney Fun Days and an awesome kid's party at McCains. And now I am doing laundry and packing us up to head to Halifax to visit Uncle Brian and Aunt Tracey. Vivian is a such a good little traveller. I am going to be sure to pack her bathing suit for Halifax and take lots of pictures as it is adorable.

Vivian had her 6 month check up and she is doing great in all respects. The doctor just kept saying 'oh she is lovely' over and over again. Of course Vivian was being her charming self the whole time. She is up to 18lbs which is great.
