Vivian - Week 33: Scrub-a-dub-dub two kids in a tub

Vivian is developing so quickly I can barely keep up with her. She is definitely scooting around now and will move from room to room quite easily. Time for me to start baby proofing again! I forgot that little babies like to put everything in their mouths (like plastic bags, dog toys and my dirty slippers... ew!). She has a new top tooth as well and I laugh every time I see her big 3 toothed smile. It is cute but I sure hope the fourth one comes in eventually.

Vivian loves her bath time now and is content to play for as long as I leave her in there. Adrian has been joining her lately and it is the cutest thing ever. She just thinks he is the most hilarious guy ever. I don't get what she is laughing at but there is some secret joke they are sharing.

The weather went directly from hot to cold in what seems like a matter of hours. I had to dig through Vivian's extensive wardrobe and find some warmer clothes. I found the cutest pair of jeans and she looked so grown up with them on. I am looking forward to digging into the 2 large totes of fall clothes she has waiting for her!

Vivian's first jeans and robies.

Cutest jean bum ever. Ever!

Vivian - Week 32: All dressed up.

Vivian is getting two more teeth on the top. I finally caught a little glimpse of the bottom two on camera and they are so cute. She is a little out of sorts and has a hard time getting to sleep at night. There really is no comforting her and she usually just ends up crying herself to sleep. Hopefully now that they are breaking through her discomfort will ease. She was extra cuddly this morning, I can't say that I minded that!

We went to a lovely wedding this weekend in St Martins (Congrats Matt & Rebecca!). Vivian looked darling in her little pink dress and I even put shoes on her for the first time in her almost 8 months. I am afraid she has Adrian's fat little feet and I could barely get them on and when I took them off there were big red marks on her feet from the straps. I guess we will be going shoeless for a bit longer.

Vivian wasn't a fan of the flash on Sara's camera and kept making this grumpy face. Everyone things this picture looks like Jamie. Draw your own conclusions. (-;

Two teeth on bottom!

Happy 3rd Birthday Adrian

My dear sweet 'Baby A' turned 3 last week. I think every one of his birthdays is going to be bittersweet. I am so proud of my big boy but I surely to miss my little sweet 'Baby A'.

Adrian's 3rd year on this earth has been wonderful. He has come a long way. To name but a few of his accomplishments: becoming the best big brother ever, potty training with ease, moving to a big boy bed, learning his ABCs, days of the week, shapes, colors, etc and learning how to play with other kids his age. It's been a great year and I can only imagine with year # 4 will bring. I am going to try to savour each and every day because they pass far too quickly.

Mommy, Daddy and 'Bibian' love you Adrian! (And Barkley in his own special way.) Happy Birthday baby.
Adrian loves his new scooter, tools and swiss army knife (toddler version that is).

Birthday party #2 with his gal pals Lily and Abby.

Decorate you own cupcakes. Always a hit.

Vivian - Week 31: Our first tea party

Vivian received a lovely tea set at one of her three baby showers and I stumbled upon it yesterday and decided it was time to dig it out. She just loves it and so do I. I don't think I have ever been to a tea party before so this is neat for both of us. And of course Adrian wants in on the action too. She always goes straight for the chocolate cake. She takes after her mother. It looks strange to see the pink and purple amongst the primary colored trucks and tools that are taking over our living room at present.

Vivian has had a little cold this week and coupled with the heat she is a tad on the cranky side. And on top of that she had another round of immunizations on Wednesday. My fear of needles kicked in this time and I was close to passing out. The nurse kept saying "Are you sure you're okay Mrs. Jones? Don't look at the needle.". What a brave Mommy Vivian has. She barely even cried.

Adrian likes to crash our tea parties. I am not 100% aware of tea party etiquette but I am pretty sure you need at least a shirt!

Very excited to get the chocolate cake.

7 months old this week

Music time is also a popular activity in our house. I actually enjoy the karaoke machine. Vivian is getting ready to play a little piano.

Vivian - Week 30: Blueberries

I am a late poster this week. We are in the process of trying to sell our house as we have a conditional offer on a house in New Maryland so needless to say we have been busy! Try keeping a house neat and clutter free with 2 babies running around. (Ok, only one is running, but it is still hard.)

We are enjoying the summer heat which has finally arrived. I love little Vivian in a sundress or onsie. I have to say, little girl clothes are much more fun than little boys. It has been too hot for sleepers which are our usual clothing choice when we are just hanging around the house.

Vivian is not enjoying the solid foods so much. Sometimes she likes them and sometimes she doesn't. And it is easy to tell the difference. If she doesn't want to eat she can shut those little lips tighter than a clam. If she does want to eat she is constantly looking at your with her mouth open and screams if you take too long between bites! She does seem to like the blueberries but boy do they ever make a mess of her clothes. Even hours later the spit up comes out blue!

Too hot too have those 'little' legs covered.

An example of what happens if she doesn't want to eat.

This sure looks wierd but it is stewed blueberries and rice cereal. Sounds good actually.

Big boy

Okay, is it just me or is Adrian looking very grown up in this picture? I love it and hate it all at the same time. I can already see him leaving behind some of his old ways... he could care less about diggers these days when just last fall he would sit and watch them for literally hours at a time. His interests have changed to sports and cartoons all of the sudden. He really is growing up!

Vivian - Week 29: On the move

Vivian rarely lays and plays any more. She is very focused on learning new physical skills such as crawling, moving from the floor to sitting and just about any other movement she can get her little body to do. I must admit I sort of miss the days where she was content to lay on my chest and stare lovingly into my eyes. Now a days she is even moving when she is breastfeeding... she is constantly grabbing at my nose or hair or tapping on my stomach while nursing. Gone are the days of cuddly relaxing breastfeeding. *sniff*

I have noticed that if you look at just the right angle you can see that Vivian has a fair amount of blonde hair. I tried to take a picture but it is hard to get the full effect. I think it will be a few months before I get to try my hand at styling her hair though.
