Vivian - Week 37: Sweet ride

We are starting to dig out some old baby toys from different corners of the house. Since Vivian has such interest in standing we figured it was time for the little walker/car. It is a little too fast for her right now for walking but she loves to sit on it and push herself backwards. She looks so old sitting on it.

Vivian can now eat some dinners with us. I will dice up a meat and vegetable meal for her. Last night she had haddock, broccoli, carrots and potatoes and ate it up like an old pro. I love that she can feed herself (and so does Barkley because he usually gets at least half of her supper off the floor) because we can all eat at the same time.

A sleepy Vivian... the only time I get a good snuggle in.

Not all girly. She knows her way around a bench saw.

Always happy to be standing... this time in Adrian's room.

Another practice scowl.

Apple picking

We went apple picking with our Tuesday play group and it was the first apple picking experience for all three of us. Adrian was a natural and of course loved every minute of it, especially the tractor ride.

Vivian - Week 36: Moving right along!

Oh my, Vivian is on fire with new things. I can't even remember which ones I have reported they are happening so quickly. The big thing in the last week is that she not only pulls herself up now, but she is 'cruising' (moving from one piece of furniture to another) and trying to stand without support! What's the rush Vivian? (I believe the answer is that she wants to keep up with Adrian.) I am really not ready for her to be walking.

Baby Mum Mums are a hit.

I caught her standing but didn't do the best job taking the picture as I was scared she was going to fall at anytime.

She pulls up on my legs now.

And her famous scowl face... she is just practicing here.

Big news! We are moving.

I think our new house is finally a done deal! We are moving to New Maryland in October and are very excited. We will post lots of pictures once the house is actually ours. It is beside a trail that leads to the UNB woodlot and 2 houses away from a park so it will be perfect for our little family. And I will have my first dishwasher ever!!! Exciting times.

Vivian - Week 35: Proud

This is what proud looks like and it is what I discovered when I opened the door to Vivian's room after her nap last Saturday. It is almost like she was standing there waiting for me to open the door and when I did she let out this funny little giggle. I was very shocked and then ran for my camera. This is now a typical sight when I open the door to the nursery and I suspect Jamie will be dropping her crib mattress shortly (which is not going to make her happy).

My days of baby food making have been very short lived. Vivian is moving right along from purees to finger foods. She can eat diced up steamed veggies and fresh fruit as well as toast slices, cheerios and shredded cheese. And she loves Baby Mum Mums. I am not quite sure why as they don't taste like much but I think it is just the fact that she gets something that resembles food that her brother would eat to hold herself.

Carrots , peas and cheese. Yummy.

The monthly bear pictures are getting harder and harder... she won't sit still long enough!

A day in the park

It was so beautiful on Friday afternoon that Jamie and I decided on an impromptu trip to Wilmont park. There aren't many of these days left this year so we have to enjoy them while they can. We actually planned on taking Adrian to the wadding pool but found that it was drained. (*sigh* Summer really is almost over.)

Adrian loved having Daddy around to rough house with (Mommy is not so great at that) and Vivian enjoyed a nice nap as well as a good long swing. One of those wonderful family moments that make all the work well worth it.

Check out my hair blowing in the wind!

Adrian climbed everything he could.

Vivian loves the feeling of grass on her bare legs.

All that fresh air is exhausting.

Vivian - Week 34: Three teeth and counting

In trying to take pictures of Vivian's 3 new teeth I found something quite amazing... she has 2 more on the way up top. Whatever happened to getting teeth in even pairs? The new teeth are handy for eating and she is already starting to eat more chunky foods and even some finger foods like cheerios and cut up grapes and cheese. She'll be eating supper with us before you know it. She is very proud when she is feeding herself.

Vivian also figured out how to go from the floor to sitting all by herself. The first time I found her sitting I was so happy I cheered for her and she was so very proud of herself. Oh she is getting more and more independent every day. It is hard to believe that about 7 months ago I was holding her head up for her!
