We are a little late with this update but it's been a very busy week and a half! Adrian officially turned 4 months old last week and had another successful doctor's appointment. He is almost 16lbs now.
Christmas was great and there was so much excitement. Christmas Eve we stayed at the Joneses house and celebrated by going to church and having homemade pizza. Christmas morning we opened a tonne of gifts and had brunch and then hopped in the truck and went to the Underhill's for round 2 of present opening. We had Christmas dinner with the Underhills and Slaneys and it was delicious. We had a wonderful Christmas and it is hard to believe it is over. I have a feeling Adrian is going to have problems going back to just Mommy and Daddy's attention after having so many admiring family members vying for his attention over the last few days.
Mommy and Daddy are celebrating New Year's Eve early this year and will be attempting a whole night out without the baby. Grammy and Grampy Underhill will be babysitting... let's hope that Adrian will take his bottle so we can stay out late with our friends!!
Hope everyone had a wonderful holiday and we'll see you in the New Year!!

17 weeks - so this is Christmas
We were awfully glad to have Daddy back from NFLD Friday night. Adrian even got to stay up late to see Daddy. We had a good week in Stickney and Adrian made his first trip to the USA with Grammy and Mommy to go shopping. He's an international traveler already.
Adrian is no longer sleeping through the night. I sort of figured it wouldn't stay. He is now up 1-2 times a night lately, which is much more manageable than every 2 hours like a month ago. However Mommy got used to her full nights of uninterrupted sleep and is a bit groggy these days.
Well it is hard to believe that next Monday is Christmas. We have lots of fun ahead of us the next week. We will be trying to get out to visit friends this week; hopefully we will catch some of you home. We will be spending Christmas Eve and morning with Grammy and Grampy Jones and then Christmas afternoon and Boxing Day with the Underhills and Slaneys. It should be fun!!
Safe travels to everyone and a very Merry Christmas. We hope you are all as blessed in the New Year as much as were in 2006!
P.S. Grampy Jones is in the hospital this week and we are wishing him a speedy recovery and sure hope he is home in time for Christmas.
P.P.S. Check out the pictures from Adrian's first professional photo shoot. The photographer agreed that he was well on his way to becoming a male model like Mommy said!

16 weeks - my first Christmas party
The holiday season is upon us and the Underhill-Jones family is having so much fun. Friday night Jamie and I went to my office Christmas party and left Adrian with Nanny Jones for the evening. It felt wierd leaving the little guy but we knew he was in good hands and it was nice to have an adult night out.
We did some Christmas shopping Saturday and tired poor little Adrian out running around town. He slept from 5PM on! Sunday Adrian attended his first Christmas party at Kingswood with all of our friends at CGI. He even saw Santa. He cried for a second but Santa started to sing a lullabye to him and he calmed down (although was still a bit tentative). It made for a good photo opp at least!
Jamie will be in lively Cornerbrook this week so Adrian, Barkley and I (yes, it's fun to fit all of us in the 2 door civic) will be in Stickney for a few days visiting Grammy and Grampy.

15 weeks - Busy Baby
Adrian grows more active by the day. He is getting less content hanging out in his swing these days as he wants to be moving and playing. We got him a mat to lay on the floor with toys on it and he just loves to lay and kick at them and talk. He can really use his hands now. It still looks strange to me when I see him in his car seat with a rattle or keys in his hand. And of course as soon as something new goes in his hand it goes directly into his mouth!
He is starting to make new razzing noises which are very cute. He is practising his 'H's these days. And he is still sleeping through the night. Sometimes he gets up for a 5:30AM snack but often he can sleep from 9PM - 8AM!
Wow, it is hard to believe that December is here already. Adrian and I are going to have to get crackin' on our Christmas cards and Christmas shopping. If anyone is looking for us this week we'll be at the mall! (-:

14 weeks - still sleeping
We are happy to report that Adrian is still sleeping through the night. He usually has a late night snack around 11PM and sleeps until 6-7AM. We really hope this lasts. Although he has rolled over a few times since the first time he still hasn't quite mastered the technique yet but he is practising every day.
Adrian had his 3 month appointment and it was a good one because there were no needles involved! He was a very good boy and charmed the doctor as usual. He passed the 15lb mark weighing in at 15lb 3oz. He's getting quite the big Santa belly on him just in time for Christmas.
We had a lazy weekend and did the usual things: trips to the mall, church, grocery shopping and a walk with Barkley. This will probably be the last lazy weekend until after Christmas so we enjoyed it.

13 weeks - Sucking, sleeping and rolling.
Adrian has had a very eventful week in his development. It all started on Saturday when he figured out how to suck his thumb (his left one only). I think he has been looking for that thumb for a long time now because he never stopped sucking it once he found it. Then Saturday night he slept 6 hours straight! I thought I was mistaken and had just forgotten a feeding between 11PM and 5AM but he has done the same thing for three nights straight. I just don't know what to do with all of this REM sleep! I hope this will become our normal routine.
Monday I left him on his back on a blanket on the living room floor while I was doing the dishes. When I returned to check on him he was lying on his stomach, asleep and sucking his thumb. That was his first time fully rolling over and it must have taken a lot of energy because he was pooped afterwards.
We are starting to visit potential daycares this week. It really breaks my heart to think of leaving him with someone else but the time will come all too quickly. He is 3 months old today! We have lots of neat pictures to share but our high speed internet is down so we will have to wait to put most of them up.

12 weeks - I have 2 hands!
Adrian has figured out that he has two hands and he can do lots of neat things with them like interlock his fingers. He constantly has his hands together now and looks like he is always praying... ah... Mommy's little angel. Of course when he tries to put his hand in his mouth he gets 2 hands and usually makes himself gag.
He is also laughing a lot, especially at Daddy who is constantly acting a fool to get the precious laugh out of him. It's rather high pitched and painful sounding at the moment... I hope he develops a better laugh with practice (-:
We had to retire the baby bathtub this week as Adrian is too long for it! He has graduated to the big person tub already.

11 weeks - my busy social life
Adrian had a relaxed Halloween and spent most of it in his swing watching the trick or treaters come and go. He is looking forward to next year when he can get into the candy too!
I know I keep saying it but it is just so amazing how quickly the little guy grows and changes. I swear he looks different just from the past week. Daddy can even see changes when he comes home from a few days away on business. If possible I swear he is getting cuter!
Well we had another busy weekend. Mondays are Mommy and Adrian's day to relax. He has been sleeping all day! Saturday Grammie and Grampie were in town for a visit and kept Adrian very entertained. Sunday Brian and Tracey stopped in for a visit and then we went with Nanny to our cousin Lilly's 2nd birthday party. There were so many toddlers there; it's hard to believe that Adrian will be in that stage next year this time! We then went to Nanny and Grampie's for Sunday dinner and a visit. Adrian didn't sleep a wink from Sunday morning until about 8PM Sunday night so he was rather fussy and overtired by the time we got him home. But once he fell asleep he was out for good and is still sleeping now. Oh well, what better way to spend a snowy Monday afternoon than taking a nap!?!

10 weeks - my first needles
Brrr.... it's getting cold out there! Adrian and Mommy are trying to keep warm by bundling up in extra clothes and I don't know about him but I am still cold! But it makes for good cuddling which Adrian sure loves.
This week was Adrian's 2 month doctor's visit. He sure is growing... gained another 2lbs and 2 inches last month. He is up to 13lbs 12oz. I guess that's what eating every 2 hours around the clock will do for you!! Adrian got 3 needles at his appointment and was a brave boy, much braver than Mommy actually. She had to sit down while Daddy comforted him. The first one took him by surprise and he didn't cry but he sure made up for it on the second and third needle. But he only cried until we got back to the house and he nursed himself to sleep and that was pretty much the end of the whole ordeal.
We will be staying home for Halloween to give out treats to the local kids. We would love some trick or treaters if anyone is in the neighbourhood!

9 weeks - 2 months old!
Adrian is officially 2 months old and getting cuter by the minute (and I swear I am not bias). He is talking up a storm these days; in fact he is sitting right beside me talking at the moment. If only I knew what he was saying! I am sure he feels the same way when Mommy and Daddy chatter on to him.
We had a good visit in Stickney with Grammie and Grampie last week although I must say Adrian and I aren’t used to the heat generated by Grampie’s huge wood fires. It was like a tropical holiday there! (-: Friday night we went to Nanny and Grampie’s for supper and to meet Henry and Shirley from Boston. Again, Adrian was not lacking attention with all the eager family members around. Daddy was still busy building "Adrian’s toy shed" so Saturday we went to Moncton shopping. It took a little too much energy, both Mommy and Adrian were tired and a little grumpy at the end of the day!
Adrian dodged a bullet today when his doctor’s appointment for his first set of shots got cancelled. Unfortunately we have to do it on Thursday and Mommy is very nervous about having to hold her little bundle of joy down while he gets his needles! I am sure it will go well (as long as Mommy doesn’t pass out!).

8 weeks - getting noisy
Another week has flown by and Adrian is now 8 weeks old. He is getting even more alert and will spend an hour just looking at and "talking" to Mom or Dad when he is in the mood. And if Mom and Dad aren't paying attention at the moment he will sit and "talk" to himself. I am pretty sure he is working his way to a laugh and we are eagerly awaiting that.
Another development is Adrian seems to have perfected the pouty mouth and is working on his more robust crying skills. He sure was practicing a lot last night! S-:
It was a chilly fall weekend in Fredericton and Adrian spent most of it in the house with Mommy as Dad was outside building a shed with Grampie and friends. It will come in handy to store all of our baby gear so it will come in handy. Dad thinks the shed is for his tools but I am sure we will be able to fill it with toys for Adrian after Christmas!
We will be headed to Stickney for a few days this week to visit Grampie and Grammie while Dad is out of town.

7 weeks - Cooing is cute
We had another fun filled week starting with Adrian's third baby shower. Thanks to all of our friends at the Hanwell Community Church for such a nice evening and the lovely presents for Adrian.
We were lucky enough to enjoy 2 Thanksgiving dinners, one at Tony & Nancy Underhills' in Centerville and one at Nanny and Grampie's in Beaverdam. What a lovely warm and sunny weekend for visiting. Adrian and Barkley got to go on long walks all weekend.
Adrian has started to talk to Mommy and Daddy lately. It is so adorable. A typical conversation goes something like:
Adrian: "Ahh Goo"
Mommy: "Ahh Goo"
Adrian: "Ahh Goo!!"
And well you get the picture. (-:

6 weeks - my first cold
Unfortunately Adrian has gotten his first cold this week. He really doesn't like having a stuffy nose and who can blame him? I am hoping it will pass soon.
We had a super busy weekend and both Mommy and Adrian are recovering today. Cousin Angie and Hugh were home from Edmonton and we joined them for brunch so they could meet the little guy. Grammie and Grampie Underhill babysat Saturday night so Mom and Dad could go to a birthday party. Boy did it ever feel wierd to be out on a Saturday night, and to not be wearing a t-shirt and slippers! Sunday we had another wonderful baby shower at the Boyles house and Adrian got to meet all of his new friends. Adrian received so many great gifts, thanks guys!!!
Happy Thanksgiving everyone! We will be headed to Stickney on Sunday and Beaverdam on Monday.

5 weeks - bald is beautiful
Adrian is looking more like his Daddy now that he too is starting to lose his hair. His newborn hair is starting to fall out and although we will miss it we are very curious to see what his new hair will look like. Maybe we have a blondie baby after all?
Adrian loves watching the fish on his swing mobile and will stare at them for minutes! (That's a long time in baby terms) He has started to make new noises and surprises himself when he does. It's very cute.
We celebrated our first anniversary yesterday, who would have thought it would be with our son! It's been an eventful year for us! (-:

2 weeks - settling in.
Adrian is officially 2 weeks old today. Time is flying by and believe it or not he is actually changing in his looks every day. It makes Mom a little sad but it's exciting to see him grow.
Adrian was in Stanley on Saturday for the Jones family corn boil and got to meet many of his great aunts and uncles. On Sunday he went to Stickney for a special supper at Grammie and Grampie's house to meet some of his Underhill family. Stanley and Stickney in one weekend.... Adrian sure is well travelled. (-;
Today we are taking it easy and resting from our busy weekend. Adrian had his first real bath in a bathtub today and he wasn't sure if he liked it at first but settled into it in the end. Check out his bathtime pictures in his first month photo album.

4 weeks - getting chubbier
Adrian is almost a month old! The past week has really been a growing week for him. His little legs and cheeks sure are filling out making him even more adorable if that's even possible.
We spent a couple of days in Stickney visiting Grammie and Grampie and got to do all kinds of exciting things like going for lunch with Grammie, walking the dogs on the trail and meeting many of Adrian's great aunts. There was no shortage of visitors and it is safe to say the consensus is Adrian sure is a blessing.
Mommy managed to catch a smile with the camera... check it out.

3 weeks - could that be a smile?
Adrian is getting bigger every day. He is close to outgrowing his newborn sleepers which makes Mommy a bit sad, but happy at the same time because a growing baby is a healthy baby!
His latest development is being able to pull Mommy's hair (which Mommy isn't too thrilled with). And we are pretty sure he is learning how to smile. That toothless grin sure does warm the heart! He is a little more alert each day and we try to spend lots of time going for walks, reading, playing on a blanket and listening to music.

Adrian is 1 week old!
Well it's hard to believe that almost exactly a week ago right now I was telling Jamie that we should go to the hospital even though I was sure I wasn't in labour! Adrian is officially one week old today. Boy the time has flown.
Adrian is the best baby a Mom and Dad could ever ask for. The only time he cries is when his diaper is off and occasionally when he gets impatient waiting to be fed. The boy likes his milk! He is almost back to his birth weight already. The dr said he was doing great.
Sunday was a special day as the Underhills and Jones came over for Adrian's first BBQ. It was great to have all his grandparents with him plus his uncle Brian and aunt Tracey. I don't think it's possible for a baby to get more love in one afternoon.
