Vivian - Week 24: So this is summer?
We are not really enjoying this rainy weather, especially since this is our first week without playgroups to attend (they don't run in the summer). I can't wait to get outside again. And I can't wait to get Vivian into her many sweet little summer outfits. I did a major overhaul of her wardrobe this week and it took me 2 whole afternoons to sort everything out. She is growing out of clothes so quickly. Luckily we have some very generous family and friends and have yet to buy hardly anything and she is the best dressed baby girl around.
Her teeth are certainly coming and I am not mistaken this time. I can see the little white slits on the bottom and she is constantly chewing on her hand and drooling. I am anxious to see the teeth but will miss her beautiful little gummy grin.
Vivian's solid food is progressing. She now eats oatmeal and rice cereal and sweet potatoes. I whipped up a batch tonight and she really did love them which surprised me. I forgot how easy it is to make baby food!

Vivian - Week 23: Cereal, not all she had imagined it to be
Vivian is doing a great job sitting on her own and can stay steady for a couple of minutes now. I still don't leave her alone because when she falls over it usually face first and I am there to catch her. She loves toys which is odd for me. Adrian never really played with toys as a baby but she will lay and play with them for hours. She always wants in on Adrian's toys and he has started to try to take hers away. I have broken up my first few fights already. Yikes.

Vivan: Week 22 - Temper temper
My little sleeper has started getting up at 4AM every night for a feeding. It really isn't that bad but I am hoping that once we start solids (less than a month now) she will go back to sleeping through the night.
Vivian got her vaccinations last Wednesday and didn't even cry... she actually looked rather angry about the whole thing. She sure is shaping up to be a tough cookie. (-: I guess that is what happens when you have Adrian as a big brother. She weighed 15.5 lbs and is right on track for weight. Yes, those adorable rolls are healthy!!!
Soccer Ball Player!
We had our first soccer practise last week. Adrian was enthusastic until we got there and then wanted to go straight home. He did listen to the coach but didn't really do much playing. He was more concerned that he didn't get a yellow jersey to wear and would not listen when I told him only half of the kids get them for the game.

War wounds
Adrian is always so banged up these days with all of the playing outside and the extreme swelling reaction to bug bites. These particular injuries were incurred at a birthday party when he was running full speed ahead without looking ahead and banged into a pool table. Ouch. Jamie and I were calling him 'Rudolph' until we realized that it was really really bothering him. "I don't want to be a reindeer" he said in a very upset voice.
Vivan: Week 21 - Rolling
Vivian finally got her first roll under her belt this week. She made it from her back to her belly and I haven't seen her that happy in a long time. The dilemma is she has yet to figure out how to make it from her belly to her back so she gets stuck and very frustrated. She is growing less patience in her old age. Adrian and I were cheering for her from the couch when it happened.
Vivian is actually sitting on my lap as I write this. She wants to say 'ga ga ma mooooh gah' to all of our friends out there. She has been chatting a lot lately and it is adorable.
Wednesday is our 2nd appointment for vaccinations. I hope she handles these better than the last ones. I have such a hard time holding her while they jab needles into her pudgy little thigh. Wish us luck!
