May 2-4: Sunny Sunday

If it is possible Sunday was even more fantastic than Saturday.  We laid low and didn't leave the house all afternoon.  It was fun for the kids to have the run of the yard and to be able to explore for the first time.  We have lovely mature trees surrounding us that provide beautiful shade for the yard and the house.  We took a wagon ride to the park just a few houses down and enjoyed an hour of play there as well.  Vivian is obsessed with the swing in our back yard.  Every time she gets loose outside she runs behind the house and stands and points at the swing.

On another note I do believe my composting days are done.  While Vivian and I were watching Blue Jays and grey squirrels in the back yard this morning we saw a big black bear lumber by and check out the composter.  I was in shock... I have never seen one in real life before and I grew up in Stickney!

Being silly... what else is new?

Hanging on the front walkway.

Making a face at Adrian when he tried to take the screw driver.  She is not a push over!

Looking in the bushes.  Also of note... the beginnings of a pony tail in the back. (-:

Tired.

 Tired Part 2.

May 2-4: Saturday rocks

Woot hoot.... first long weekend of the summer and it is a hot one. I am pumped for summer now.  The best part about this weekend is that we didn't have a single thing planned so we just got to do whatever we felt like doing.  Saturday was spent puttering around the house which both kids love.  Vivian and I took Barkley for a nice walk and they both love to take walks.  We finished the day off with a trip to the New Maryland trails and playground and a BBQ dinner on the deck.  What a novelty after a long cold winter!  And the first time at our new house.  We have a lovely backyard full of trees and perennials so it was nice to enjoy it.

Checking out the New Maryland trails.  Vivian loves a ride in the stroller.

And the highlight of the trail... the suspension bridge.

Honestly... this is what happens if you let them out of your sight for a minute.  Notice Vivian's hat was thrown on the ground.  She can really move.

Vivian's first dinner outdoors. She was very concerned when she saw me taking her seat outside.

Adrian: high on life

It took a big leap of faith for Adrian to make it to the roof (we got a new garage roof last weekend) but he finally made it and was super proud of himself.  This was his third try (the first two he would get very scared at the top of the ladder) but he conquered his fear and we were proud of him.

Modeling his new shirt. (Thanks Uncle Brian & Aunt Tracey.)

A hot Sunday afternoon at the park

We had a lovely Sunday afternoon with a picnic in the park, some play time and then a trip to Tingley's for ice cream (us and half of Fredericton). Oh I love summer!  It was Vivian's first ice cream cone and I wish I had pictures but it was hot and our ice creams were melting and I was trying to manage everyone's while keeping them out of traffic... no time for pictures!  Take it from me - she loved it!  Adrian had bubblegum ice cream.  It is not at good as I remember.
