Vivian - Week 11 - No more sleepy newborn

It is no longer a chore to get a picture of Vivian awake. She is quickly leaving her sleepy newborn days behind her. She just loves it when anyone talks to her and will soak up any attention she can get. Strangers just eat it up when they talk to her and she flashes them her toothless smile. Everywhere we go she seems to have admirers. We went shopping in Saint John with Grammy and Grampy Underhill on Saturday and every time I looked there was someone new talking to her in her stroller. She is quite the social butterfly.

Vivian has lost her Palmer grasp reflex that made her grab your finger whenever you put it in her hand. She can now control her little hands and I find her grabbing her blankets and my hair all of the sudden. (I forgot how difficult it is to get a little clenched fist out of long hair.) She also puts her hands in front of her face and stares at them as if to say 'What are these?'. And she sure can hold her head up on her own. I might dig the bumboo seat out soon and see if she can maneuver that.

We are enjoying the spring weather and are getting out a lot. I splurged on a new 'Sit and Stand' stroller that can accommodate Vivian and Adrian and I love it so much. We have been on a number of outings including a visit to my office, walking around downtown and the passport office. I hope everyone is sucking in as much Spring as possible!

Adrian will put his beloved 'Didi' on Vivian if she is crying... now that is love in toddler terms!
Bath times is one of her favorite times. Mine too.
"I don't like the way that star is looking at me."

Just try to get 2 kids to look at the camera and smile at the same time! I dare you.

After viewing these pictures Adrian said 'Vivian not look happy'. She was probably scared of what was going to happen to her with that wiggle worm laying beside her.

Just another Saturday morning

Don't ask why but Adrian is standing in his oh-so-cute boxer briefs eating a chocolate Timbit amongst a huge mess that I swear wasn't there 10 minutes before I took the picture. Just a typical Saturday morning at our house.

Vivian: Week 10 - These are a few of my favorite things

Vivian's favorite thing is her thumb. It also makes my list because it seems to put her to sleep instantly. In the past week she has slept through the night twice and was only up once all of the other nights. After a year of 4 feedings a night with Adrian I honestly thought this kind of sleepy baby was a myth. I sure am enjoying my rest. Thanks Vivian!

She is the most content little baby ever and will give anyone a smile that takes the time to make eye contact with her. She even smiles and laughs at the fish on her mobile.

As I was bathing her tonight I decided to try to take a few pictures of some of her most adorable parts. Of course it is impossible to choose but here are some...

Just look at these thighs. I give them a little squeeze each day. They are only cute on a baby though. (I am trying to keep mine from looking like these.)

She has very dainty feet. Just look at those pinkie toes... they are the size of tictacs.

Of course her sweet little face with all of the funny expressions make the list. This is her saying 'are you seriously taking pictures of my thighs Mom?'.

Hot dog!

Adrian likes to watch the Mickey Mouse clubhouse all of the sudden and it always ends with something we call the 'Hot dog dance'. So all you have to do is say 'hot dog' and provided Adrian is in the right mood this is what results....
