There went Peter Cottontail

We had such a lovely Easter holiday. Jamie and I both had the 2 extra days and we really enjoyed the extra time we got to spend as a happy little family. I could really use a 4 day weekend every month or so.

Some of the fun things we did included visits with Angie & Hugh and Sara & Emily, an Easter egg hunt at Nannie's church, a Good Friday service downtown, dinner with Nannie & Grampy, a quick visit with Grammy & Grampy on their way home from Halifax, a nice long walk in the snow with Barkley and of course our own little Easter egg hunt at our house.

I wasn't sure how much Adrian would enjoy an egg hunt and I have to admit our effort was only half-hearted. We will do better next year! I am sure Adrian didn't notice though. The Easter bunny came while Adrian and I were brushing our teeth (yes, we need to work on our 'trickiness'). Adrian wasn't too excited about little eggs being all over the living room until he realized each one of them contained a teddy graham that he was allowed to eat immediately! That got his attention. After the teddy grahams were gone he noticed his Easter present which was a little 'Mr Potato Head' and he really liked it. But the funny thing is he only wants to make the same face over and over again. The boy knows what he likes!

Hope you all had as excellent of an Easter as we did at the Underhill-Jones house!

Adrian's first hair cut.

Well today was onefor the baby book... Adrian's first hair cut. No we didn't go to the barber, since Daddy doesn't have one; rather we went to Avalon Salon to get a professional cut by Sam. Adrian was such a good boy. Sam said it was rare to see a little one so calm. He just sat perfectly still and watched her in the mirror with his big blue eyes. I don't think he blinked the entire cut. He didn't get a whole lot cut off, but he looks different in my eyes. (No more rat tail!)

Here is the after!!

And if he wasn't looking old enough with his hair cut, here he is "talking" on his cell.

Bye-Bye!

Adrian has made a troublesome new discovery... he can open our back door and get own on his own. I figured locking it would solve the problem until I discovered that it barely slowed him down. To his credit he usually says 'Bye-bye' first and takes at least one piece of outdoor clothing with him (a mitten or a shoe) but that is not good enough. I am worried he will let the dog out as well. Luckily he isn't big enough to get the gate on the deck open but I am sure it is just a matter of time.

His little fingers work in precision ways all of the sudden. He is always looking for new things to do with them. One of his favorite discoveries is that if he sticks one in my belly button I will scream so he is always trying to sneak up on me and do that! He is such a little trickster.

Seeing stars

Adrian Jones... you're too cute. I have a hard time getting him to wear a pair of sunglasses but he couldn't resist these ones. I leave them in the kitchen and I keep putting them one when he isn't looking and the turning around really fast to surprise him. It is always good for a laugh, and I'll do anything to hear his adorable little chuckle.

We're back!

Sorry for the super long blogging break... it was not by choice! Between the week in Cuba, many illnesses, 18 month shots and Jamie being out of town with his computer all last week there was no time! The good news is we have lots of pictures to share, and let's just say Adrian is only getting cuter.

Jamie and I had a good week in Cuba except for the fact that I was rather sick much of the time. And on top of bronchitis and the flu I had a really bad case of 'Missing-Adrian'! That was the roughest part. Our resort was nice and the weather was hot and sunny for the most part. I sure am glad to be home though. Leaving makes you realize how good you've got it sometimes.

Adrian had a great week, dividing his time between the grandparents. Jamie and I are are so lucky to have 2 sets of parents so willing to take the little tyke. From all accounts they all really enjoyed their time together. I swear he grew in the week while I was gone, even Jamie agreed with me. And he was saying lots of new words which I must say broke my heart a little.

We got home on Saturday and then on Monday poor Adrian had to go in for his shots. Just when he was perfectly healthy from a week without sharing germs at daycare! He always has reactions to the shots... this time it was a bad fever and a mild rash. Poor little thing. You can't tell from the picture because he looks far too happy, but he is eating a Popsicle for the fever! (Jamie also looks far too happy for Jamie, the vacation must have done him well.)

Coloring is all the rage at our house these days. I have to thank Lisa (Adrian's babysitter) for that. Watching Adrian colour makes my heart melt... it is such a 'big boy' thing to be doing. The actual coloring part holds his attention for about 1 minute and then it turns into him trying to do new and naughty things with the crayons like: eating them, sticking them in his ear, putting them in the heater, etc. It's amazing how many uses he can come up with for a box of crayons!

See you soon... I swear!
