Our little perfect sleeper has disappeared and has been replaced by a baby that fights every nap and bedtime with all his might. I am a bit perplexed as he had been having his usual scheduled 2 naps a day and 7:30PM bedtime with no issues at all. Oh I miss those days. The past few days he just will not settle down and I really don't know what to do. Let's hope this is a passing phase!
Adrian turned 7 months old last week. Yes, I say it every month but I just can't help myself... 'My how fast my little baby is growing'. I made a list of behaviours he used to have but has already grown out of and counted at least 10. Gone are the days of his being 'milk drunk' after a good nursing session, laughing his head off at Daddy sticking his tongue out (now that's just a lame joke) and sleeping on his back with both hands above his head. And perhaps the thing I miss the most are our cuddle sessions. He can't stop moving long enough to get into it now.
We made Adrian a new play area in our living room this weekend. His playmat was no longer entertaining him so we put down some foam mat to protect his little melon as he is learning to crawl. He can't crawl yet but somehow he can make it from one end of the mat to the other in about 10 seconds.
Swimming class went well on Saturday. Adrian went completely under water a bunch of times and it didn't phase him at all. The only problem is he hasn't figured out that he should close his mouth so he takes in a lot of chlorine water in the course of a 30 minute swim class.
Jamie is playing in a hockey tournament in Moncton this weekend so we will be heading to Stickney in the weekend. Have a nice spring week everyone!

30 weeks - Tooth #2 has arrived
Let's hope that that was the last winter storm of the season! We woke up late Saturday morning and realized swimming lessons were in 30 minutes (on the North Side!) so Mommy and Daddy were in a mad rush to get there. There were many tense moments, especially with Daddy at the wheel and the roads being slippery. After all the stressing we pull into the parking lot of the indoor pool only to find that there wasn't another car there! I guess swimming lessons were cancelled. We laughed pretty hard about that. We got our Tim Hortin's and went back home where we should have stayed to begin with. Adrian must of thought we had lost it with all the rushing and stressing. He took it all in stride though.
Adrian's 2nd tooth has arrived. He looks oh so adorable with this bottom two little teeth popping out. I am still trying to catch them with the camera but it's tough. On the eating front, Adrian tried and really hated green beans. This is the first food he has rejected so I guess I shouldn't complain. However I have a whole bag of beans made for him so I am going to try to sneak them in somehow. He LOVES pureed dried apricots. Definitely his favorite so far. It probably helps that they taste sort of like jam!
Mommy has started summer shopping for Adrian and it is so much fun. Between all of the baby showers and gifts we received for the holidays this is the first clothing shopping we have done for him. He's just so cute in everything that it is hard not to buy everything.

29 weeks - Swimming like a fish
Our fun weekend started on Friday when we had a lunch date with Nanny Jones. Adrian had fun meeting all of her lovely co-workers. It seems Nanny has been telling them lots and lots about baby so it was nice to get out and meet them all.
We had a lovely weekend and really enjoyed the nice weather after the week of subzero temperatures. On Saturday Adrian attended his first swim class. Daddy took him in the pool and he loved it from the start. He was splashing and kicking, so much so that Daddy could hardly hear the leader's instructions. Adrian was pretty tired after 30 minutes. We continue the classes for the next 8 weeks.
In the afternoon we took a trip to Moncton just to get away and did a bit of shopping and eating and came home. Adrian sat in a high chair at the restaurant for the first time and he seemed so old sitting at the table with us. We also realized that Adrian has a major flirting problem. We would always catch him makes eyes at the ladies and a few women in the mall even made comments that he was flirting with them. As soon as he makes eye contact with his big blue eyes he puts on a big grin to show off his pearly white! Watch out ladies!! (-:

28 weeks - dadagagaaaahma!
Baby Adrian has started babbling in a serious way. He first started making all these funny sounds Thursday afternoon and since then he will go on and on for hours if you let him. But as soon as you start talking to him he stops. Apparently he is going to be a good listener.
Mommy and Adrian spent a few days in Stickney and got to enjoy the nice weather. Grampy Underhill somehow ended up receiving a baby sled in one of his trades so we put it to good use. Adrian really liked being out in the fresh air and even had his first taste of snow. Too bad the frigid cold weather is back and we are stuck indoors again!
Eating is going well and we have settled into a routine. Adrian has cereal and fruit for breakfast and veggies and/or fruit for lunch and supper. Of course there is alot of milk in between. This week he had applesauce for the first time and he made the most hilarious sour pucker face the first few times. I guess the apples were a taste explosion for his virgin tastebuds.
We start our first swimming lesson on Saturday. Daddy is going to take Adrian in the pool and Mommy is going to watch. This should be fun.

27 weeks - My first tooth
Ardrian is officially half a year old and it certainly has been a busy week for him. He is changing more each and every day, so much so that I can barely keep up. This week he tried a few more foods: squash (liking now), bananas (yummy) and peas (not fancy on the peas!). We also noticed on Sunday morning that he had his first little tooth sticking out. That really freaked me out because I had just checked the night before and there was nothing. You can't really see it yet (or else I would have a picture!) but you can certainly feel it with your finger. Let's just hope that Mommy doesn't it feel it while Adrian is nursing!! He is making new noises every day and gaining more control over his hands. He is working up to a wave. If you wave at him he will hold his hand up and he gets this funny look on his face like he is trying to figure out what to do next.
His doctor's appointment went very well and he only cried during the shots and stopped shortly thereafter. He weighed 17lbs 11oz and is almost 27 inches long. A healthy little boy by all accounts. The doctor found it funny that he was watching her every move. She asked him if he was writing a book report on his trip to the doctor. (-:
