Adrian loves to help Daddy. He seem intrinsically drawn to all tools and equipment. It totally makes his day when he gets to hang out in the shed with Daddy. This weekend Jamie and Adrian had some fixing to do with the drill. As can be seen in the pictures Adrian was very fascinated with the whole thing. Once they were done he went and got his own plastic drill and pretended to do the fixing all over again on his own. It's nice to have another man around the house.

Happy Mother's Day!
So this is officially my second mother's day and I must say I am not feeling any less emotional this year. I know it is supposed to be a day to appreciate your Mom, and I surely do. I don't know how I would ever be half the Mom (and woman) that I am today without the wonderful influence and overwhelming love and support that my Mom gives me. Thanks Mom!
But on the other side of the coin, I am really appreciating the blessing that is motherhood. It's all too easy to get swept up in the 'routine' of being a Mom sometimes (laundry, diaper changes, mood swings, exhaustion) but every now and then I get caught up in one little moment with Adrian and I realize how all of the mundane routines pale in comparison to the joy that being his mother brings me. He is such a caring, smart, and funny little boy and I just love him more than words could ever express. Adrian has recently learned how to say "I love you" and when he says it to me he has an extra special little song in his voice and smile in his eyes that puts a lump in my throat every time. How much more of a gift could I ever ask for than that?
To all my fellow Moms.... Happy Mother's Day!
Rock on!
Adrian went to his first concert today. I must say "Splash and Boots" put on one heck of a show. He is a funny little guy sometimes. He is such the ham at home that it is always surprising to me to see how shy he is in public. For most of the concert (except for the kiddie mosh pit below) he just sat quietly on my lap, watching intently. I would move his arms around to do all of the actions while he stared straight ahead with a cautious grin on his face.
It wasn't until we got out to the car that he started to dance and sing on his own. He was even doing all of the actions I had done for him inside. He was obviously taking the whole experience in but perhaps was just a little overwhelmed at the time. He performed the "Hello" song for us many times in the afternoon.

All in a day's work.
Oh there are just so many chores to do in the evenings. Good thing I have lots of help!

Simple things.....
Sara was over for a visit and this is how we entertained ourselves....
I know Adrian looks rather alarmed in the photo but he thought it was funny too.... I swear!
